WoW speculation-- everyone else ignore
two bets from me for the new races in the WoW expansion coming out in December (mmm, gaaame):

Furbolg

and

Worgen.

there. them's my guesses. oh, and goblins, but a lot of people have been speculating about that for a while. i'm guessing that they'll all be neutral races. THAT would be cool.

I was thinking Harpy and Naga - you know, going for that whole fish-n-fowl theme.

were you thinking that the new races will be kind of their own faction, separate from Horde and Alliance? That's rather what I'm wondering, and it would certainly make sense if any of them were things like the Harpies, Naga, or Worgen in particular. Maybe it'll be one set of neutral-to-all races, and one of hostile-to-all . . .

I was joking with the Harpy/Naga thing, but I don't think Blizzard will try to complicate things with a third faction. Harpies have no culture or civilization, though Naga could have a great Atlantean thing going...

I was thinking just now, more seriously, about Centaurs for the Horde and Dryads for the Alliance...

hmmm . . . just hit wowguru.com, and a poster there swears that he has the real goods there. he's saying that the new races will be Bloodelves (Horde) and Dranei (Alliance). thing is, i'm confused-- i don't recognize the history he starts with; it's not actually part of the official WoW history that's on the community site, at least not that i remember. at any rate, even if this IS true, he's got to have incomplete info-- the Dranei racial trait looks ridiculously useless, especially compared to his broken-looking Bloodelf racials.

ah, wait. just read down the thread. the OP apparently has a habit of making up incredibly real-looking previews/patchnotes and such. so maybe he's full of poo. better just wait until Saturday.

oh, oh, no-- Saturday's just the day that they'll unveil the concepts they're planning for it. the expansion's not supposed to actually be available until December.

if it's important to you two, the Complete Calvin and Hobbes is apparently set to sell out before christmas. I went ahead and ordered my copy from Amazon, since they have it in stock. If you want one, you should probably order it soon.

I didn't make my prediction here, but if I had, I would've been right: Blood Elves are one of the new races.

yeah, unfortunately. WTF is up with giving the Horde a pretty race? i don't like Blood Elves. I think they're dumb. ;-p ohwell, at least now the Horde has to deal with the dark Legolas wannabes as well.
